[trans] 110217 JYJ Fans Set Their Sights On Subway Advertisements

JYJ fans have set their sights on subway advertisements.

The JYJ fan alliance released detailed plans on putting up advertisements on subway screen doors that included the location of the stations.

According to the released plans, the advertisements will be placed in 21 stations, such as Jamshil, Shinchon, Hongdae Entrace, and Apgujeong over the span of a month starting from March 7th.

JYJ fans have already set up a month-long 'We Support Your Youth' bus advertisement that began on January 27th that brought together 120 buses in several major cities of Korea.

Fans pointed out that JYJ have been unable to appear on music programs though they have been staying active through musicals and dramas. They began the advertisement campaign to support the trio who are, according to the fans, having their activities restricted.

The money collected for the project is estimated to have been around 160 million Won and a total of 80 million Won is left after the bus campaign. This amount is to be used for the subway advertisements.

The musical 'Tears of Heaven', which has become a hot topic because of Kim Junsu's participation, is receiving criticism from Kim Junsu's fans for setting up the OP section with folding chairs regardless of the high price of the tickets.

The musical, which is currently showing at the National Theater, has been garnering attention even before it began showing for the cast and crew involved, including Frank Wildhorn, Kim Junsu and Brad Little.

The show was expected to have explosive ticket sales due to the participation of Kim Junsu, and this proved true when all the shows Kim Junsu is set to star in were sold out in minutes.

But fans, who had focused on nothing but Kim Junsu's appearance at the beginning, are starting to raise their voices against Seol Company's seating arrangements as they said, "We buy and buy because Junsu's appearing in the show, and Seol Company's been blinded by the business we bring."

The problem they brought up was the OP section which is located right in front of the VIP section. These seats are situated at the front of the theater and are used only when there is no orchestra or when the theater is small.

Kim Junsu's fans have pointed out that Seol Company is charging the same price for all seats on the first level, but are being unjust when it comes to seating arrangements. On fan said, "OP seats should cost less than VIP seats or at least a certain distance away, but how can they put a couple of folding chairs in a section and call it the OP section?" and "The VIP section doesn't feel like the VIP section and neither does the OP section. How does it make sense that the back row of the first floor costs as much as the first row. 130,000 Won folding chairs? Really?" Another fan said, "I thought they already had OP section chairs like the Sejong Arts Center but all they did was put folding chairs in front of the VIP section. Because they made seats that didn't exist before, I couldn't see anything from the waist down of the actors."

Most of the time, the OP section costs as much as the R section or less because it is close to the stage, but its proximity makes it hard to see the stage. But 'Tears of Heaven' charged the same price of 130,000 Won as it charged for the VIP section, and as the company created seats with folding chairs, the new seats are affecting both those in the OP section and those sitting in the first few rows of the VIP section. Also, as the first three rows of the VIP section are on the same level, people who pay for the expensive tickets end up watching the show in severe discomfort.

A representative of the production company stated, "We worry that people say think that by charging 130,000 Won for all the seats on the first floor and by not differentiating between the VIP and OP sections, we may look like we're extorting fans through star marketing but that is not the case at all."

According to a representative of the MMA, "Saying that we have special treatment for celebrities is absurd. He also added, "We do not delay every medical examination for all people who take overseas trips. If you stay in Korea for 60 days or longer between these trips, you are ordered to complete your medical examination. Though JYJ got their medical examinations done on the 14th, they do not have any plans of enlisting this year. JYJ are holding a world tour in the first half of this year and Kim Junsu is currently performing in the musical 'Tears of Heaven'.

The Seoul District Courts has dismissed all formal objections against JYJ's injunction as well as the exclusive contract suspension injunction filed by SM Entertainment against JYJ's Kim Jaejoong, Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun.

On the 17th, the Courts made it known that they have dismissed all claims filed by SM Entertainment, which is the agency's formal objection against JYJ's injunction as well as its exclusive contract suspension injunction.

This means that the Courts have emphasized their decision that the contract signed between the members of JYJ and SM is invalid and that the members' independent activities are guaranteed. They have also publicized that SM Entertainment cannot interfere with JYJ's activities in the entertainment activities on the claim that their contract with the agency is still valid.

The Courts laid down the verdict that SM Entertainment's formal objection is invalid on the premise that ▲the exclusive contract in question can be categorized as a submissive contract as it does not give the celebrity the freedom of choice and instead forces him to follow the orders of the entertainment agency, ▲the members of JYJ could do nothing but follow SM's orders as they were placed in an inadequate position compared to SM in terms of bargaining power, ▲the exclusive contract's extreme long-term subordinate nature cannot be justified by pretexts including the decrease of investment risks and ensuring a stable entrance into foreign markets, ▲other than the long-term nature of this exclusive contract, clauses including that which gives SM Entertainment direct superintendency over JYJ's every move as well as that which calls for excessive compensation for a breach of contract strengthen the submissive nature of this contract and place the members of JYJ in an unilaterally disadvantageous position.

Regarding the injunction filed by SM to suspend the exclusive contract signed between the members of JYJ and C-JeS Entertainment, the Courts dismissed the injunction on the grounds that, ▲as long as the verdict made on October, 2009, which includes the decision that SM must not interfere with JYJ's independent activities in the entertainment industry, is valid, SM's request to suspend the validity of the business commission contract signed between the members of JYJ and C-JeS Entertainment is not allowed as it goes completely against the previously stated verdict, ▲and stressed that SM cannot exert the direct superintendency, given to them by their exclusive contract, over JYJ's activities in the entertainment industry as of now.

I don’t usually pay attention to male idols, so I didn’t think much about it.

They were smiling as they signed autographs for the other students that were going for the medical examination, and chatted with the students beside them.

JYJ’s Kim Junsu revealed photographs of his family, showing their “superior genes.”

On 11 Feb, Junsu posted - “With my mother and brother,” and uploaded a photograph of his family. This photographs were taken during their family vacation at Jeju Island. 

In the photograph, Kim Junsu posed with his mother and brother. His brother Junho, who was wearing a printed black top, also gained the attention of many for possessing exceptional looks, like his younger brother. Also, Junsu and Junho’s small faces were a topic of discussion.

After seeing the photos, netizens expressed, “This is proof of superior genes, his brother is really handsome too,” “Both brothers’ faces are so small, they are about to disappear,” “Their mother must be relieved,” and other comments.

JYJ's Park Yoochun spoke up about his composition that has been swept up in a controversy due to its lyrics.

Park Yoochun appeared on MBN with the other JYJ members and talked truthfully about the controversy surrounding his composition 'A Song Without a Name Part.1'.

When told, "Your composition has become a hot issue," Park Yoochun gave a bashful smile and said, "I was really surprised." He continued to say, "There's a lot of talk going around about the song, but all I wanted to do was be honest about what has happened to us till now."

The song 'A Song Without a Name Part.1' is included in the music essay "THEIR ROOMS, our story' that was released by JYJ in January. The piece contains the story of TVXQ from their debut in 2004; it includes their entry into the Japanese market and all the happenings that lead up to the beginning of the trio's legal dispute with SM Entertainment.

The lyrics were swept up in controversy when netizens concluded that they sounded like they were attacking the trio's former label SM Entertainment. Examples included, "Hearing that we had finally struck gold overseas and brought in results so unimaginably astronomical, I walked into the office with a spring in my step to receive my pay. But the statement of accounts we received said we were at a deficit. Everything was listed under expenses," and "This is exactly like what our seniors said."

Actress Kang Yebin is drawing attention for revealing that she is friends with JYJ's Kim Jaejoong.

On the 'Women Choosing Ranks (Innocent Girl)' episode that aired on the 10th, the women showed off their idol star connections in a new corner. These women revealed pictures of themselves with the idol stars they are friends with.

The person who stood out most was Kang Yebin and her photo. She was chosen as the woman with the most unexpected connection as she showed everyone a picture of herself with Kim Jaejoong, holding bottles of soju and making comical expression at the camera. MC Lee Hwijae commented, "It's probably not Kim Jaejoong," but Kang Yebin replied, "It is him. It was Kim Jaejoong's birthday yesterday and we took this photo at his birthday party while watching soccer."

She was flooded by jealous questions from the other women such as, "Kang Yebin isn't even that active so how does she know him?" and "Did Kim Jaejoong say it was okay to show this photo on a tv program?" In response to this, Kang Yebin elicited more jealousy from the other women as she said, "I consider Kim Jaejoong a friend. When I told him I would show this photo on this show, he said, 'It's okay with me but I worry about you, noona.'"

Kang Yebin also left Kim Jaejoong an impromptu video letter that said, "I heard you're filming something today. It's cold but do well. Thanks."
